Dr. Beverly K Robertson, Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Beverly Robertson-Spearman was born and raised in Pittsburg. After graduating as Valedictorian from Pittsburg High School, Dr. Spearman attended Stephen F. Austin University taking pre-optometry courses and preparing for entry into the University of Houston College of Optometry. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston in 1978 as well as her degree of Doctor of Optometry in 1980.
Dr. Spearman is licensed by both the Texas Board of Optometry and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. In 1992, Dr. Spearman passed the examination with the Board of Examiners in Optometry and was licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist specializing in prescribing medications and treatments for management of ocular infections, injuries and diseases. In August 2004, Dr. Spearman successfully completed the University of Houston College of Optometry's Optometric Glaucoma Specialist Course.
Dr. Spearman returned home to Pittsburg to open her private practice in 1981. With more than 31 years of experience, Dr. Spearman maintains a thriving practice based on the latest in eye care technology and a caring environment for patients.
Dedicated to humanity, Dr. Spearman spent two weeks in Belize in 1988 volunteering her medical experience and time to those in need. Dr. Spearman was awarded Woman of the Year by the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce in 1989 and Woman of Achievement in 1990 by the Pittsburg Chapter of Business and Professional Women. From 1992-1995 she served on the Northeast Texas Community College Board of Directors. She currently participates with VSP in Sight for Students, a coordinated effort to provide eyeglasses for students in need. Dr. Spearman is also an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.
In 2010 Dr. Spearman added a partner to her practice, DR. JESSICA RICHARDSON. Graduating magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2010, Dr. Richardson has become a valuable team member of the practice. With her magnitude of current knowledge, she offers the same comprehensive eye care to her patients that has become the standard of our practice, Dr. Richardson has been married to Logan Richardson for 7 years and he is currently a student at NTCC. They are both native to this area and very excited to be residing 'back home'.
Dr. Spearman is married to Steve Spearman, also a native son of Pittsburg. Steve is co-owner of the family owned and operated Pittsburg based B & S True Value Home Center and Lumber Company. Beverly and Steve enjoy spending their time with their two sons and their wives and their five grandchildren. Dr. Spearman loves to practice optometry, travel, garden, read, cook, collect antiques and ... play with the grandkids, of course!
Jessica Richardson, O.D.
Dr. Jessica Richardson was born and raised in Mt Pleasant, Texas. After graduating from Mt Pleasant High School, Dr. Richardson attended Northeast Texas Community College where she earned an Associate of Science degree followed by her Bachelor of Science degree from A&M-Commerce. After being accepted into the University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr. Richardson earned her Doctorate in Optometry in 2010 graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Licensed by the Texas Board of Optometry as a Therapeutic Optometrist, Dr. Richardson can prescribe medication, spectacle lenses, contact lenses, and perform certain surgical procedures. Dr. Richardson is also a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of the many stages of Glaucoma.
Dr. Richardson returned home to Mt Pleasant in 2010 to reside and currently has eight years of experience practicing Optometry in Pittsburg, Texas. As an Optometrist, Dr. Richardson counsels her patients regarding surgical and non-surgical options that meet their visual needs related to their occupations, avocations, and lifestyles.
Dr. Richardson is married to Logan Richardson of Pittsburg. Logan works as a Medical Lab Tech at ETMC-Pittsburg. They have one son, Lane Richardson, who attends First Kids Academy at First Baptist Church in Mt Pleasant. Dr. Richardson and her family attend St Andrew United Methodist Church, and her hobbies include camping and crossfit.
